Oral Traditions
It's a new semester and a new class. For the next 15 weeks I'll ponder the relationship between orality and literacy, our memory and its importance in both oral traditions and literate society, and the relationship between oral societies and mythtelling. It's sure to be a blast!

I am a huge fan of Mr. Rushdie; let us know what he talks about and how it is. Do you know if he's on a tour?
Have you read his book "Shame"? It's my favorite that he wrote...besides Midnight's Childern.
WOW you are all so lucky. I heard Salman Rushdei speak a few years ago in NY and it was great. Everyone should go!!!!
